Blue Balloons Revisited

Blue balloons, red balloons and yellow ones too,
We are all beautiful balloons regardless of our hue.
And when more fill up with air and then they start to be,
We don’t say, “we need more airs, maybe two or three”,
There is only one air! And its always there; everywhere,
And every little balloon, all over the world, gets its share.
There’s more going on between balloons than you can see,
Because our thin skin isn’t as solid as we think it might be.
The one air inside of me and inside you, is all around us too,
And it’s always leaking out me; some might leak into you.
It leaks from the trees, the bees, and the seas and into the sky,
Making us not many ‘airs’, but just one big breathy sigh.
Like Blue balloons, red balloons and yellow ones too,
We share the one breath of life, not three, not two.
One life inside beautiful colors, more life all around,
Together we are as one and as one we are bound.
There is no separation between us, near or far,
We feel the same love and wish on the same star.
And from that star way up in the Milky Way night,
The billion balloons below are a single shining light.
After some time our balloons get old and limp, but we don’t die,
That one air inside us just rejoins the one air outside us way up high.
Our blue balloon skin doesn’t last, but the one air is forever,
Always, shining on all the other balloons we love,
like sunny summer days.
